This evening featured new work from Dea Karina & Nico Daleman, working loosely (though not exclusively) with sounds from Colombia, Indonesia and the unique instruments of the Haus der Indonesischen Kulturen.

After the performance, a public exploration of some of the instruments used in the performance followed.

The piece explores different aspects of music technology, creating a dialogue between Southeast Asia and South America. From field recordings and analogue devices to stochastic synthesis and AI generated audio, the technologies enter a transcultural negotiation as equalized partners. The elaborated and multifaceted soundscapes create a third sonic space where perspectives on the uses and abuses of music technology confront themselves.

Most recently, the duo performed with a 3rd AI entity for Soy&Synth 2022, a concert series featuring artists from southeast Asian and south American diasporas.

This evening is presented by L-KW and hosted graciously at Haus der Indonesischen Kulturen - Rumah Budaya Indonesia.
